Dr. Ramida obtained her PhD from the University of New South Wales, Australia. She is currently an associate professor in the department of biochemistry at Srinakharinwirot University in Bangkok. Her research and other academic activities involve collaborations in Japan, Australia, England, Scotland, Austria, Spain, Finland and the U.S. Her current research focuses on the effect that various xanthone-containing compounds found in the mangosteen have on cancer cells. She has been honored as a recipient of various awards, including the "Fulbright Visiting Scholar 2006–07," "Women in Science 2005" and "Gold Medal Award for Outstanding Student 1986."
